Roman FoodAs part of the community consultation for the improvements at Housesteads Roman Fort, for English Heritage and the National Trust, we went to visit children and their parents at the Sure Start Children's Centre in Hexham. We took along some of the things Romans would have eaten when they were living on Hadrian's Wall. Sheep's cheese went down very well with the children. Olives and oat cakes were also popular, unlike dates and fish sauce.
