Two pieces of good news for heritage: firstly the National Lottery Heritage Fund has announced its new funding programme which will help heritage recover from the impact of covid:
Between April 2021 to March 2022, the Heritage Fund will prioritise heritage projects that:
- boost the local economy
- encourage skills development and job creation
- support wellbeing
- create better places to live, work and visit
- improve the resilience of organisations working in heritage
A wider range of people have to be involved in heritage and all projects must demonstrate they are environmentally responsible.
The second good news is that the Listed Places of Worship Scheme for VAT recovery on repairs has been extended. This will be a huge benefit to places of worship, as their resources are even more stretched as a result of covid.
